HMPE / Dyneema Rope

Product detail

HMPE / Dyneema Rope

HMPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, sold as Dyneema or Spectra) gives strength comparable to steel wire of the same diameter at around one seventh of the weight, with only 3 - 4 % elongation. It floats, but it creeps under sustained load and softens near 145 - 150 C, so drum friction has to be controlled.

  • High performance mooring lines
  • Winch and crane lines
  • Yacht running rigging

Standards

  • ISO 10325 (HMPE ropes)
  • OCIMF MEG4 line documentation
  • Ideal where crew handling weight and line stretch must be minimised.
  • Supplied with a Line Design Break Force (LDBF) certificate on request.

Figures are typical values for the fibre type. Exact break loads, weights and tolerances are stated on the certificate supplied with each rope.
