Wire Ropes

Steel wire rope for mooring winches, deck cranes, towing gear, cargo gear and standing rigging. Common marine constructions are 6x19, 6x36 and 6x37 with an independent wire rope core (IWRC); rotation-resistant 18x7, 19x7 and 35x7 grades are used where a load must hang free without spinning. Supplied galvanised or in AISI 316 stainless, cut to length, with resin sockets, swaged ferrules or hand-spliced eyes and full mill and test certification.

  • Discard criteria and inspection guidance supplied with each delivery.
  • Stainless 316 recommended for permanently exposed rigging.
  • Wire rope splicing, socketing and proof load testing carried out in our workshop.
