Polypropyleen tros
Polypropylene has a density of roughly 0.91 g/cm3, so the rope floats and stays clear of propellers. It absorbs virtually no water and resists rot, but it has the lowest strength and the lowest melting point (about 165 C) of the common synthetic fibres, so it must be kept away from hot winch drums and heavy surge loads.
