Southern Marmara
Marine rope and rigging supply — Gemlik
Gemlik Bay serves the Bursa industrial region and handles a mix of containers, vehicles and bulk. Car carriers and container vessels dominate the rope requirement, and the working pattern is short calls with predictable schedules.

Traffic
Container, ro-ro and car carrier, bulk and general cargo
Typical scope
Mooring lines, tails, lashing and cargo securing
High-windage vessels and mooring load
Car carriers and loaded container ships present a very large side area to the wind, and Gemlik Bay can see strong gusts. That matters for rope selection: the mooring pattern has to hold against a wind load that changes quickly, which favours low-elongation lines that share load evenly across the pattern rather than lines that stretch and let one line take the whole force.
The practical consequence is that a mixed inventory — some old lines, some new, some different fibre — is worse than a consistent set, because unequal stiffness means unequal load sharing. When we quote a replacement we ask what is already on board for exactly this reason.
Lashing and cargo securing
Gemlik's ro-ro and project cargo traffic generates steady demand for cargo securing rather than mooring alone. Lashing chain, tensioners, webbing, ratchet straps and securing hardware are quoted against the cargo securing manual and the class requirements, not as generic hardware.
- Lashing chain and load binders
- Webbing slings, ratchet straps and tensioners
- Shackles, hooks and turnbuckles in matched working load limits
- Wire rope slings with certified terminations
Ordering for a Gemlik call
Because calls are short, we prefer to have the specification confirmed before the vessel arrives and to deliver against a fixed berth window. Send the specification, the ETA and the agent, and we confirm the delivery slot rather than promising an open-ended 'on arrival'.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Yes, by road from Tuzla, coordinated with the vessel's agent and the terminal access procedure.
