Marine rope and rigging supply — Yalova

Yalova sits directly across the Marmara from Tuzla and has grown into a second shipbuilding and yacht-building cluster. Much of the work there is newbuilding and fit-out rather than turnaround, which changes the buying pattern.

Region

Southern Marmara

Main activity

Shipbuilding, yacht building and fit-out

Access

Road via the Marmara coast, or ferry crossing from Istanbul

Typical scope

First outfit rope sets, rigging hardware, deck equipment

First outfit rather than replacement

A newbuild does not have an old rope to copy. The specification has to be derived from the mooring arrangement drawing, the winch and drum data, the fairlead geometry and the intended trade. That is a technical conversation, not a catalogue selection, and getting it wrong is expensive because the whole set is bought at once.

We work back from the design figures: required break load, then fibre, then construction, then diameter and length, then terminations. The result is a documented set rather than a pile of coils, which also makes the delivery inspection straightforward.

Yacht and workboat building

Yalova's yacht work needs a different range: smaller diameters, better finish, soft shackles and textile connectors, dock lines and fenders' rigging, and terminations that look right on a visible deck. We keep those separate from the commercial range because the acceptance criteria are genuinely different.

  • Yacht and boat ropes in dock line, anchor line and control line constructions
  • Soft shackles and textile connectors
  • Stainless and galvanised thimbles, shackles and turnbuckles
  • Custom splicing and whipping to a finished appearance standard

Delivery to Yalova

Deliveries run by road around the Marmara or by ferry from the Istanbul side, depending on volume and timing. For large first-outfit orders we schedule delivery against the yard's outfitting programme rather than sending everything on day one, which avoids storage damage and UV exposure on ropes that will not be fitted for months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Send the mooring arrangement drawing, the winch and drum data and the intended trade, and we will propose a documented set — fibre, construction, diameter, length, eye configuration and tails — rather than a bare price list.
